“Safer At Home” and Timesharing

On Friday, March 27, 2020 at 10:00 pm, the Hillsborough County “Safer at Home” Order will become effective.  The order requests that residents limit their activity outside of the homes and stay home as much as possible 24- hours a day, 7 days a week, among other guidelines. However, under the new Order, the County carved out an exception for parent and guardians exercising timesharing, under subsection(3)(jj) of the order which states:

“3. This Safer-At-Home Order shall not apply to the following essential individuals

  1. Any parent or guardian transporting a child or children pursuant to a custody sharing agreement or Order.”

Other surrounding counties have not made a specific guidelines surrounding transportation of children for timesharing purposes during this time.  Therefore, Hillsborough County residents, continue to transport your child as necessary for exercising timesharing. That being said, it is encouraged that parents meet for exchanges in less crowded areas and avoid doing exchanges indoors.  For more information on the Hillsborough County “Safer at Home” Order, Click Here!
