Our Top Picks For Giving Back In the Tampa Community

Our Top Picks For Giving Back In the Tampa Community

Anton Garcia Law is thankful for the support of our local community and the impact we have on families and individuals every day here in Tampa. Our team of lawyers shares a few of our picks for giving back in the Tampa Community for Thanksgiving and the holiday season:

Trinity Cafe

Trinity Cafe is a free restaurant, serving hot meals 365 days a year. We love that anyone is welcome and served without question. Give your time to help feed our hungry neighbors here in Tampa. Volunteer bonus: this is where we’ll be to give back this Thanksgiving!

Feeding Tampa Bay

Giving back over Thanksgiving and the holiday season at Feeding Tampa Bay generally consists of sorting food donations, stocking the pantry, and more. Many local schools, churches, businesses and individuals and small groups help fulfill the mission to feed the thousands of people who are hungry in our community.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Being a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters isn’t just a way to give back this Thanksgiving, becoming a big brother/sister is a wonderful way to serve the future potential of Tampa. Start with a Big Orientation & Training session to learn about the program, expectations and, of course, the kids you’d spend one-to-one quality time with as your Little.

Meals on Wheels

This Thanksgiving is a good time to sign up to help serve our senior and homebound neighbors in Tampa Bay. As a Meals On Wheels volunteer, you are delivering much more than a hot, nutritious meal. You also provide much needed human interaction for seniors when they need it most.

Humane Society of Tampa Bay

This holiday season it’s not just people who need your help; you can also volunteer your time with animals in need. This local organization is dedicated to ending animal homelessness and providing care and comfort for animals. Take dogs for walks, give socialization, clean kennels, and more.

Remember that in most cases to become a volunteer with the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, you are required to attend a Volunteer Open House. Volunteer open houses are being held in November on 11/17 and 11/29, 2018.

Ronald McDonald House

As Tampa’s top family law attorneys, we understand the importance of family and keeping them close in a time of hardship. As a volunteer at Ronald McDonald House Charities Tampa Bay, you can assist in keeping families close as their children seek medical treatment.

At RMHC, even small things like baking cookies, greeting families at check-in, and hosting meals and activities have a big impact on local families. There are 4 houses in Tampa Bay to give back to the community this holiday season.

Host a Community Food Drive

You don’t need to have the support of a local organization to give back in the Tampa community. Get to know your neighbors better and do some good at the same time by hosting a community food drive! Then you and some new friends can drop holiday donations off to a local shelter or food bank.

Here are some ideas of what types of donations Tampa food banks need.

From Attorneys John Castro, Christina Anton Garcia, and the entire legal team at our Tampa, FL law offices, we hope you have a safe Thanksgiving holiday.
