Florida’s Department of Children and Families Updates the Child Abuse Hotline

There is good news coming from the Department of Children and Families as they overhaul the state abuse hotline. In recent years the department has taken heat for its slow response time and incomplete data.  The new system, managed by IBM, will require hotline employees to go through a new training program and ensure that accurate information is collected for each call.  While growing pains are expected, there is hope that the system will get more children in abusive situations the help they need.
