This past Saturday Attorney Christina Anton Garcia, Samantha Chirichella, and friends of Anton Garcia Law volunteered at Quantum Leap’s Farm. Quantum Leap Farm, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization was founded in 2000. It is a nationally recognized equestrian program serving injured and disabled adults and children, as well as military service members and their families. The Quantum Leap Farm allows for those who are recovering from injury or who live with mental or physical disability to use horses as a form of rehabilitation. Quantum Leap is the only local program that uses horses as a form of therapy specifically for adults. Last year they served over 1,100 individuals, and had over 500 volunteers. Participants range from the ages of 2 through 92 years of age. Participants of the program are usually diagnosed with the following conditions, but are not limited to:

  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Muscular Dystrophy
  • Stroke
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Down Syndrome
  • Autism & Developmental Issues

While at the ranch, volunteers assisted in help with horseback rides, arts and crafts, painting of a live horse, and other things associated with the therapeutic benefits of the attendees. Anton Garcia Law often volunteers with Quantum Leap and looks forward to volunteering with the organization in any future events.
